Tesco British Natural Mineral Water
Tesco’s own-label natural mineral water, sold still and sparkling. It replaced Ashbeck and now covers the water that was Tesco Elmhurst. The source depends on the pack: Armathwaite in Cumbria (5 L and 6 × 2 L, hardness about 63 mg/L) or Elmhurst near Lichfield (2 L still and sparkling, about 137).
Tesco British Natural Mineral Water replaced Tesco Ashbeck and now covers the water that was Tesco Elmhurst. Tesco prints a different analysis on different packs. The 5 L and 6 × 2 L still packs name Armathwaite, Cumbria (register source GB4, trade description Ashbeck). The 2 L still and the sparkling packs name Elmhurst, Lichfield (register source Elmhurst Spring). The 12 × 500 ml pack prints its own analysis and a description that names both the Eden Valley and Elmhurst, so we haven’t placed it. Correction, 13 October 2026: this page used to show one profile for every pack (calcium 40 mg/L, hardness 158). Tesco prints that for neither source.

Mineral character
Per litre, the Elmhurst packs (2 L still, sparkling) have calcium 36 mg, magnesium 11.4 mg, sodium 6 mg, bicarbonate 140 mg, sulphate 7 mg and chloride 11 mg. Hardness is about 137 mg/L as CaCO₃. The Armathwaite packs (5 L, 6 × 2 L) have calcium 17 mg, magnesium 5 mg, sodium 10 mg, bicarbonate 46 mg, sulphate 14 mg and chloride 13 mg. Hardness is about 63 mg/L. Armathwaite has a third of the bicarbonate and under half the hardness, which matters for coffee and brewing. The 12 × 500 ml pack matches Armathwaite except calcium, 12 mg, giving a hardness of about 51 mg/L. Values are from Tesco’s product pages, 13 and 14 October 2026.
