Waitrose No.1 Royal Deeside
Waitrose No.1 Royal Deeside is a natural mineral water sourced from the Cairngorms National Park in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, and sold exclusively through Waitrose as a premium own-label product. The water is bottled by Deeside Water from a spring associated with the Pannanich Wells site, in the Cairngorms granite belt. The Cairngorms geology produces an exceptionally soft, low-mineralisation water.
In December 2025, the Food Standards Agency issued a recall of Waitrose No.1 Deeside Mineral and Sparkling Waters due to the possible presence of glass fragments (FSA-PRIN-55-2025). This is a documented product event; current retail availability should be verified against FSA records.

Mineral character
Calcium is 4 mg/L, magnesium 3 mg/L, sodium 6 mg/L, sulphate 6 mg/L, chloride 9 mg/L, and bicarbonate 26.6 mg/L. Hardness is 22 mg/L as CaCO₃ and TDS is approximately 60 mg/L. All ions are at very low levels; this is among the softest waters in the TWD database, reflecting the limited mineralisation imparted by granitic Cairngorms geology.
