The Water Dictionary

Radnor Hills

StillHeartsease, Knighton, Powys, Wales

Spring water from a borehole on the Watkins family farm at Heartsease, near Knighton, Powys, originally drilled to water livestock. The brand launched in 1990 and everything is bottled on the farm. The source is on Defra’s register as natural mineral water, but a May 2017 trade report records the company moving “from mineral to spring water” and every current product is labelled spring water, so we classify it as spring water. Radnor Hills Mineral Water Company Ltd is a large UK contract bottler supplying own-label drinks to multiple retailers. In August 2023 it bought Highland Spring Group’s Blaen Twyni site at Glyntawe, the register’s “Crystal Falls” source.
