Loka
Loka draws its water from a source in the forests of Bergslagen, Örebro County, central Sweden, near the historic spa and resort at Loka Brunn. The Loka Brunn spa received its mineral rights in 1720 under Conrad Ribbing, governor of Örebro County, and is one of the oldest spa establishments in Sweden. The modern Loka brand was acquired by Spendrups, the Swedish brewery and beverage group, in the mid-1990s; the Spendrups family acquired the Loka Brunn spa site itself in 2007. The source water is filtered through geological formations from the last ice age, estimated at approximately 10,000 years old. Loka is classified as a remineralised sparkling water rather than a natural mineral water: mineral salts including sodium bicarbonate, potassium bicarbonate, magnesium chloride, and sodium sulphate are added to the source water before bottling, and the water is artificially carbonated.

Mineral character
The TWD database profile for Loka is incomplete, reflecting the variable nature of a remineralised product. The available data records calcium at 0 mg/L — no calcium is added in the remineralisation process — and sodium at approximately 160 mg/L from the added sodium salts. Because the composition results from an industrial formulation rather than natural filtration, the profile can in principle be adjusted by the manufacturer, and comparisons with natural mineral waters in the database are of limited value.
