Mineral character

Calcium is 97 mg/L, magnesium 2 mg/L, sodium 8 mg/L, sulphate 4 mg/L, chloride 16 mg/L, and bicarbonate 136 mg/L. Hardness is 250 mg/L as CaCO₃, reflecting the chalk geology. Magnesium is unusually low relative to calcium, a characteristic feature of chalk-filtered waters. Sulphate is also notably low, distinguishing Hildon from some other hard English waters with more sulphate in the profile. The profile is dominated by calcium and bicarbonate in roughly equal hardness-equivalent contribution.
