Fiji
Natural Artesian Water
Fiji Water is sourced from an artesian aquifer beneath the Yaqara Valley on the island of Viti Levu, Fiji. The aquifer sits within a volcanic chamber formed by an ancient crater; rainwater filters through layers of volcanic rock over an estimated 15 years before collecting in the confined reservoir. The water is bottled at source in the Yaqara Valley. Fiji Water does not hold EU/UK natural mineral water status (it is sold as “natural artesian water”). The brand is owned by The Wonderful Company (Stewart and Lynda Resnick).

Mineral character
Fiji is a soft, bicarbonate-dominant water with a notable silica content. Bicarbonate is the highest ion at 155 mg/L, with calcium at 18 mg/L and magnesium at 15 mg/L giving a total hardness of 107 mg/L as CaCO₃. Sulphate is recorded at 0 mg/L, chloride at 9 mg/L, and sodium at 18 mg/L. TDS is approximately 230 mg/L, which is higher than the hardness alone would suggest; the difference is largely accounted for by silica at 93 mg/L, which is not captured in the standard six-ion profile but is a distinguishing feature of this water. In the TWD database, Fiji is one of the few waters where silica is a significant contributor to TDS.
